Yeah, I think SUP are trying to drive the site in a different direction, much the way Delicious did earlier this year. And the first step in doing this is purging the userbase that you no longer want.
So, fine. If that's what they want, they can have it. It's a shame to see LJ go though, when it's pretty much responsible for this sort of blogging format.
