SHERLOCK TODAY!
That is all.
No, that is not all. Actually. I wish to complain about New Year's. It's horrible. It woke me up and then wouldn't let me go back to sleep for all the banging and shouting going on outside. Woo! We made it another year without being eaten by a tiger! Oh, fuck off and go back to bed, the lot of you.
I also find it hilarious how the eve is not a bank holiday, but the day is. Because someone out there realises that most of the workforce is going to be hungover to all hell today, I suppose.
Uhm. I'll have a pattern for the Watson scarf up in about a day or two. I'd already written it up last night, and then my computer did that glorious thing where it restarted before I could save. Fucker. So I'll write it up again, I guess.
Also, my sliced-off finger is feeling much better. I can never tell if it's a high pain threshold or a quick healing thing, but either way, it doesn't even bug me anymore. There is a massive bit still missing though. It's a good thing I'm not really doing table magic anymore, because it is so very not attractive. But really, that it doesn't bug me anymore, after just what? a week? just goes to show how much that horrible dentist fucked up my mouth in June that IT still bugs me from time to time.
BUT SHERLOCK TODAY! I haven't been this excited for something since I was squeeing about Doctor Who a few months ago. :DDDDDDD

Game of Shadows
Nov. 3rd, 2011 02:25 pmI find myself having conflicting feelings about this thing. On the one hand, Irene Adler aside, the first film did do wonderfully at putting Sherlock Holmes back into the public consciousness. I do think that's a good thing. On the other hand, Irene Adler. She could not have been presented any worse than she was, nd think that is a very bad thing.
I'm also a bit hesitant about Stephen Fry as Mycroft. Oh my. Yes. That could be so wonderful. But I just know that the studio have paid for Stephen Fry in a waistcoat, and not Stephen Fry playing a role that isn't himself. I half expect him to call someone 'my darling,' actually.
No, I don't think I'll be seeing this. You lot have fun with it, though. I just... I just can't.

It makes noise. That's sonic, innit?
Jan. 5th, 2009 10:55 pmAs I mentioned in several previous posts, to commemorate the soon-coming of the Eleventh Doctor, I bought a Sonic Screwdriver from Amazon. Well, according to UPS, it was scheduled for delivery today. Being Monday, I had to run out to put some things in mail boxes, and grab a few supplies. Worried that Amazon would want a signature, I rang USP, and asked if the package could be left at my doorstep, and the dispatcher said that it's upon the driver's discretion.
Well, I put a note on the door, begging for the package to be left, in case Joe didn't hear them knock, or whatever, and ran my errands. I came back, no package. The dispatcher said that it could be delivered any time, because USP is made of fail like that.
As it started nearing 5:00, I began pacing the house like an expectant father. Did they come while I was gone, and not leave a note? Did it go to the wrong address? Did they lose it?
( spoilers: it arrived )
