• “Oh, no. Not at all,” Douglas replied, actually managing to sound casual. “I’m certain we got all of those tins of rotted fish off the plane.”


• “Oh, goodness, no,” Nicholas responded as he picked up a pair of chopsticks. “I don’t like sashimi, either. Disgusting.” He looked down at Danny’s plate and pointed with his sticks at something orange and green wrapped with rice. “Here, try that one.”


• “Really,” Sherlock insisted. “Well, there was this one girl when I was in primary school, but when you’re seven years old, ‘relationship’ isn’t really the right word, I don’t think.”


• “It’s something of a hobby,” Ford said. “But someone else’s. I just keep getting dragged along. I don’t much like it, you see. It’s terribly confusing.”


• “I don’t know what you do with phones, but most people use them to communicate with other people who aren’t in the same room as them.” Sherlock had to resist the urge to call Mycroft any names, since doing so had the habit of seeing him thrown out of the building.
