Lol, I can't distinguish between people easily IRL so I probably didn't notice it being any worse. I agree with some manga though - if the two lead characters have an almost identical name and/or look nearly identical I don't even start the series. I think you'd like the plot though.
I avoid most animated things/comics on principle, unless the art appeals. It doesn't matter how good the story is. If the art is fuck-ugly, I won't willingly suffer though it. *shrug*

Yeah. When I have faceblind moments, it's more like 'Oh, sorry, I didn't recognise you in that coat'. I'm actually much better at recognising fictional characters than real people because they tend to have a consistant feature.
For example, if Horatio Caine was to approach me in the street, I'd recognise him right away. If the actor who plays him was dressed as a completely different character, I wouldn't.
