Things that happened today

• Made a bit of headway on one of my big bang fics.


• Made vague plans with Bill for tomorrow. The only thing we seem to know for certain is that Sherlock Holmes and alcohol will be involved.


• Organised all my wool. It's now much easier to get to when I need it.

Oh, yeah. I also sliced off part of my fucking finger! Just the meaty tip part; nothing vital's missing or anything, but still. FUCKING OUCH. Have you ever tried typing without the tip of your middle finger? It doesn't work particularly well. D: This icon is so fucking appropriate, it's not even funny.

Because I know people will ask, I was trying to open a box, and the blade slipped. Bled like a son of a bitch, stained everything. No, I'm not posting pictures, because it hurts too much to deal with.

Have you ever tried typing without the tip of your middle finger?

*raises hand* Well, without using my pointer finger, because I grated the tip off and had it all wrapped up (and pressure made it feel like I'd re-split everything). I've only JUST got it back, and I still can't use the very tip to press anything, because ooooow.

I'm so cross, because I need a collective 16k by 1 January for my big bang fics. I'm finding it easier to use a typewriter, because you have to go slowly (comparatively, anyway; I'll never get 110 WPM on that thing), which means I can get away with using the John Watson school of typing.

I made the grave mistake of over-reacting to my partner about it. He told me to do something while I was trying to shove a bunch of kleenex up my finger, basically, and I told him to do it because I was bleeding to death.

He just looked at me and then left for work. I still don't remember what it was I was supposed to do.

It's so annoying, because it's my middle finger, and the bandage on it mates it rather difficult to bend. So what I'll probably do when I go out today, to avoid accidentally being rude to everyone, is wrap that one and my ring finger together. And then just not wear gloves. D:
